This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store and share information across all of our services — including website visits, reservations, rentals, payments and our optional SMS messaging program. The SMS-specific terms below apply only if you opt in to text messaging; the rest of this Policy applies to everyone who uses our services.

Information We Collect.

We may collect various types of information from you, including but not limited to:

• Personal Information: name, address, email address, driver's license, payment information and other details necessary for processing reservations and providing rental services.
• Usage Information: information about your interactions with our website, app and services, such as log data, IP address, device information and browsing activity.
• Location Information: if you permit access, we may collect location data to assist with services like navigation or finding nearby rental locations.
• We will collect your mobile phone number when you agree to receive SMS. The information will be collected verbally: in person or over the phone.

SMS Program Details.

Data Usage. We use your data solely to communicate via SMS about reminders, alerts, notifications and to answer any question you may have.

Data Security. We protect your data with secure storage measures to prevent unauthorized access.

Data Retention. We retain your information as long as you are subscribed to our SMS service. You may request deletion at any time.

Opt-Out. You can cancel SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any text message you receive from us. After you send STOP, you will receive one final message confirming you have unsubscribed, and you will receive no further texts. For help, reply HELP to any of our messages, or contact us at +1 (800) 890-5801 or reservations@dfgrental.com. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies.

You can send HELP for additional assistance and you will receive a text including our phone number, email and our website or social media link to contact us. We are here to help you.

Non-Sharing Clause. No mobile phone information will be shared or collected with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

How We Use Your Information.

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Process Reservations: to process and manage your car rental reservations, including sending confirmation and updates.
• Improve Services: to enhance and personalize your experience, analyze website usage patterns and improve our services.
• Communication: to communicate with you about your reservations, respond to inquiries and provide customer support.

Information Sharing.

We may share your information with the following entities:

• Service Providers: third-party service providers who assist in providing our services, such as payment processors, IT support or customer service.
• Legal Compliance: if required by law, we may disclose your information to comply with legal obligations, enforce our policies or respond to government requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do use Google Ads to measure which advertisements lead to reservations, which involves the advertising cookie described in Section 7. We do not use or share driver's license information for marketing purposes (Driver Privacy Protection Act, 18 U.S.C. § 2721). Our services are intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Data Security.

We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. Despite these efforts, no data transmission over the internet is entirely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Breach Notification.

If a breach of security compromising your personal information occurs, we will notify affected individuals and any government authorities required, in the manner and within the timeframe required by Florida law (Fla. Stat. § 501.171).

Data Retention.

We retain rental records (including reservation details, signed rental agreements, driver's license information and vehicle condition photos) for the period required by Florida law and our records policy, generally up to five years from the rental end date (Fla. Stat. § 95.11), after which they are deleted or anonymized unless a longer retention period is required by law or an active claim. SMS program data is retained only while you remain subscribed to our SMS service.

Your Choices.

You have certain rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: you can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: if you believe your information is inaccurate or incomplete, you can request corrections.
• Withdrawal: you can withdraw consent for marketing communications or location data collection.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at reservations@dfgrental.com. We will verify your identity before acting on your request and respond within 30 days.

Cookies and Similar Technologies.

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. This is what runs on our site and what each one does.

• Essential. If you sign in to your account, we store your session in your browser so you stay logged in. During checkout, our payment processor Stripe sets cookies (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) to help detect fraud. Booking and payment do not work without these.
• Preferences. We store your language choice (dfg-lang) in your browser so the site opens in English or Spanish next time.
• Site analytics. We generate an anonymous session id (dfg_sid) to count visits and see which pages are used. It is not a cookie, it is deleted when you close the tab, and it does not identify you.
• Advertising measurement. If you reach us from a Google ad, Google Ads sets a cookie (_gcl_au, up to 90 days) so we can tell which ads lead to reservations. We use it to measure how our advertising performs.

How to turn these off.

You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all offer this under privacy or site settings. You can also turn off ad personalization in your Google account at google.com/settings/ads. Keep in mind that blocking essential cookies will stop booking and payment from working.

Third-Party Links.

Our website and services may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites.

Changes to the Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through our website or other means. Your continued use of our services after the changes will signify your acceptance of the updated policy.
